081/365 Karate Kid

Nyla and Kylie had their first karate lesson today. It was a free trial but I think we’ll sign them both up. Kylie can definitely use the discipline. Nyla was great. Plus, I want them in their karate gi, not their wimpy polka dot pants 🙂

080/365 Garlic Soy Edamame

Had one of those rare date nights with Toshimi thanks to a generous offer from Aunt Joan to watch the girls. Finally made it to the Japanese restaurant in our building. It was pretty good for Americanized Japanese, but the edamame were very unusual. First time either of us had any kind of flavored edamame, and they were surprisingly good. Not much of a food instagrammer but this just had to be taken.

Back in the air again, heading home in another very indirect way. Thanks Delta. Flying through Los Angeles we can see the haze settled in amongst the mountains and the valleys. Happy to be heading home to SF.

In Phoenix at the Downtown Sheraton. I was a hater of Sheratons, but the Southwest has a nice collection of them. The hotel is huge, but this random walkway off the pool was most interesting to me.

Out for a run, needed a picture. My hood – the Fillmore district.

076/365 March Madness

Basically what the majority of office workers’ desk will look like for the next two weeks in the US. We’ll almost – they probably have Thinkpads and they probably will be better at picking teams than I am.

075/365 Music School

Nyla took her first music class today. I’d prefer she do soccer or karate or gymnastics or something athletic, but I lost. She seemed to enjoy it which is what matters most. Still have a chance to get Kylie into sports…
