151/365 melting pot

after spending some time in San Francisco, one thing that is very apparent is that this city is more diverse than any I have ever been in. More than NYC I think. And that is just people. Even storefronts seem to have no rhyme or reason. Just look at these signs. Marijuana, books, psychics, cash, financial district, Chinese, bars, etc. It sure is a fun place!

150/365 murphy bed madness

I walked into my hotel room last night thinking someone was playing a joke on me at 1am when I couldn’t find the bed. Took me a few minutes and then realized it was a Murphy Bed hidden in the wall. First time ever using one – not sure I did it right but it was a fun ride!

when you arrive as late as I did, the rental car counter is pretty empty…

148/365 a new york minute

is that even a saying? That is all I had really to see NYC on this trip – arrived today in the afternoon, straight to meetings, got sick during the last one, went to the hotel and collapsed in bed, woke up at 10:30pm and went for a stroll down to Times Square to take a picture, before back to bed for a quick day tomorrow and then out to SF.

as the clock ticks down, the list of things to do in the ATL seems to get longer and longer. Checked another off the box today – the ATL shaped playground in Robert Woodruff park downtown. Pretty cool little playground, sketchy area. Still fun though!

146/365 toccoa falls

i used to love waterfalls. Hit up many of the great ones in Japan. But never really made it to any of the ones in Georgia – today we woke up and decided to visit two great ones – Toccoa Falls and Minnehaha falls. Toccoa is simple and great (this one). Minnehaha is more interesting but was too crowded and even worse lighting. Anyway, good to introduce the girls to waterfalls finally.

well, that was easy enough. Didn’t have to stage or declutter or anything really. And like that, it sold. Now we just need to secure a place to move into and all is well.

somewhere inside this stretch of seven miles by seven miles is my new home in San Francisco. Certainly, I’ll find it. It’s there. I know it. And thank you Delta for flying west for 5 minutes to let me try to spot it before circling back around and realizing our flight is heading east.

143/365 allsaints

walking back from dinner to my hotel looking for something to take a picture of, I walked by the AllSaints shop. Don’t think I have ever been in one, but the windows with the old Singer sewing machines and tons of spools are always pretty cool.

142/365 don’t get it

why this picture? Because recent actions on Flickr are beyond comprehension. The redesign – appalling. The fact that a photo I took two days ago is now my most popular photo on Flickr and I wouldn’t even consider it in the Top 100 of my 365 project. And that the Flickr uploader just randomly uploads my photos and then decides to delete them. So, continuing with the theme of confusion and utter nonsense with Flickr: today’s picture.
